Anti-Flag

Photobucket

History
Pittsburgh, United States (1988 – present)
Anti-Flag is a punk band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, formed in 1988. Despite relatively modest beginnings and a back catalog of independent labels, the band has risen to steady popularity, having performed tours on four continents and signed to a major label. The current lineup includes Justin Sane (vocals/guitar), Chris #2 (vocals/bass), Chris Head (guitar), and Pat Thetic (drums). Past members include Lucy Fester, Andy Flag, and Jamie Cock.
New Red Archives released their first album, Die for the Government, in 1996. Andy Flag also left the band that year because of personal disputes between himself and Justin. Chris Head began filling in on bass in 1997 and then moved to guitar after Jamie Cock took over bass in 1998. The current lineup finalized in 1999 when Chris #2 replaced Jamie on bass. During this time they released albums on Go Kart Records and Fat Wreck Chords, as well as their own label, A-F Records. Of these, Underground Network (recorded by legendary punk producer Mass Giorgini), is widely considered as their “breakthrough” album, successfully connecting the band with its largest audience to that point.
On October 8, 2004, U.S. Representative Jim McDermott gave a speech in the House of Representatives, praising Anti-Flag for working to encourage young people to register and vote.

Angels and Airwaves

Photobucket

History
Angels & Airwaves (also known as AVA) is an alternative rock, stadium rock band created by blink-182 and former Box Car Racer guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge. The band consists of former Box Car Racer guitarist David Kennedy, former Offspring drummer Atom Willard, and former 30 Seconds to Mars Bassist Matt Wachter, who replaced Ryan Sinn in early 2007.

The band released their first single, “The Adventure” on May 18, 2006 and their debut album, “We Don’t Need to Whisper”, on May 23, 2006. Recorded and produced at DeLonge’s Never Pants Ranch, the album is a mix of huge production values and anthemic songwriting sounding nothing like the pop-punk sound that earned DeLonge huge amounts of credit for his work with blink-182

The band released new album “I-Empire” On 5th November, 2007 which gained fast popularity, climbing to the number one spot on iTunes almost overnight. The first single from the new album, “Everything’s Magic”, was leaked onto the internet, and on August 25, 2007 it was the most requested song on California radio station KROQ. Angels & Airwaves began streaming the song on their myspace profile on August 28, 2007. I-Empire debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at No.9 with sales of 66,000 in its first week. On November 16, 2007, Tom announced on Modlife.com that “Breathe” will be the next single/music video off of the I-Empire album. A documentary by the band entitled Start The Machine is also in the works.

ALESANA

Photobucket

history
he crowd is still screaming at a nearly sold out show in Anaheim, California as the sweetcore phenomenon known as Alesana exits the stage.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this,” says frontman Dennis Lee as he tips back the last swallow of his vodka bottle. “Seeing kids go crazy like that dozens of miles away from home reminds me that I have like the second best job in the world. Oh, and that wearing high heeled leather boots on stage probably isn’t the best idea in the world…but it simply must be done. ” Crowd response like this is something that the six-piece from Raleigh, North Carolina is sometimes accustomed to all over the county and other parts of the state: and this is only the beginning. Cheese

The band’s debut full length record On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax, in stores nationwide on March 20th, 2007, is built around a dynamic, emotionally charged, three guitar, three vocal attack. “We’re all about dynamics, both musically and vocally,” says vocalist/guitarist Shawn Milke about why the band elected to employ three guitarists and three vocalists. “We don’t try to be like anyone else or to be something we’re not. By having six members we are able to pull off the same guitar and vocal harmonies in a live setting that we have on the record.”

Forming in November of 2004, Alesana has always focused a great deal of their attention on having an energetic and memorable live show.
