The Early November

Photobucket

History
Hammonton NJ, United States (2001 – 2007)
2001-2007(Hiatus)
The band was formed by guitarists Arthur “Ace” Enders (who was born on April 19th and grew up in Bass River, New Jersey, before moving to Hammonton, New Jersey) & Jim Sacco along with bassist Sergio Anello and drummer Jeff Kummer in Hammonton, New Jersey in February 2001.
Together, they recorded a 5 track demo in Enders’ basement and sent it, along with a poorly edited videotape to only one label: Drive-Thru Records.
A couple of months passed while both Sacco and Anello had to budge for more skilled replacements, Steve Nakovich (guitar) and Mike Klemash (bass), until the band got in touch with Richard Reines of Drive-Thru, who luckily was visiting their hometown and agreed to meet with the band to give advice.
Stunned by what he had heard, Reines returned to California to discuss a possible signing with Drive-Thru co-owner Stefanie Reines. A few weeks and yet another line-up change later (Joe Marro joined for Nakovich), Drive-Thru signed The Early November and put them, despite their practically non-existent on stage experience, on 2002’s Skate and Surf Fest and on selected dates of the Warped Tour.
Klemash and Marro left the band before the recording of their debut EP For All of This. Anello re-joined on bass, while a temporary second guitarist was found in John Dubitsky. The CD came out on Drive-Thru Records in early November 2002. Enders recorded The Acoustic EP on his own, featuring acoustic versions of most songs off their debut EP, which was released a mere two months later.

The all american rejects

Photobucket

History
The All-American Rejects are an American pop rock band that formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma in the late 1990s by high school friends Tyson Ritter (on vocals, bass, piano) and Nick Wheeler (lead guitar, vocals and keys). Other current members are Chris Gaylor (on drums and percussion) and Mike Kennerty (rhythm guitar and vocals), whose music taste can be checked out here MikeKennerty. They released their first independent album in the spring of 2000, and eventually built up a large local fanbase.
In the summer of 2001, the Rejects released the EP Same Girl, New Songs and began to tour the American Midwest. By the tour’s end, the band had signed a contract with Doghouse Records, the label of such bands as River City High and The Get Up Kids.
In 2002 the Rejects recorded their international debut album. From this album came the single Swing, Swing for which the Rejects were first known.
In 2005, The All-American Rejects released their new album, Move Along. This album features the song Dirty Little Secret, which was the first single. Their music video for the song features postcards from the book “Post Secret” by Frank Warren. The second release from the album was Move Along, recognised by its far from ordinary video, followed by It Ends Tonight which got some publicity from being featured on the third season of the MTV show, Laguna Beach. They also appeared in the TV series ‘Smallville’ where they played It Ends Tonight on the party of Lex Luthor. Before that, you also heared their songs Swing, Swing and Dirty Little Secret on the same show.

Taking Back Sunday

Photobucket

History
Amityville, New York, USA (1999 – present)
Taking Back Sunday originally formed in Amityville, New York, USA in 1999. The band has gone through several lineup changes. Their first release came in 2001 with the Taking Back Sunday EP, and featured Antonio Longo on vocals, John Nolan on guitar and backing vocals, Eddie Reyes on guitar (the original founder of the band), Jesse Lacey on bass, and Stevie D on drums. This CD was distributed at Taking Back Sunday shows, but never achieved any noteworthy success. Following a change of lineup (Jesse Lacey to Adam Lazzara and Mark O’Connell replaced Stevie D) they released the follow-up album Tell All Your Friends, which was produced by Sal Villaneuva. The album gave the band a first taste of success in the scene. After the release, they played with bands such as Brand New (formed by former bassist Jesse Lacey) and The Used, as well as performing as a short stint on the 2003 Vans Warped Tour. Another change in their lineup occurred when singer/guitarist John Nolan and bassist Shaun Cooper left the band and formed what is now Straylight Run. Because of these departures, the band’s future was in doubt for some time. However, with the additions of guitarist/vocalist Fred Mascherino and bassist Matt Rubano, the band became stabilized.

The year 2004 proved to be a successful year for Taking Back Sunday, with the band opening for blink-182 and being one of the main headliners for the Vans Warped Tour. In addition, their second album, titled Where You Want to Be, was released on July 27, 2004 on Victory Records.

Snow Patrol

Photobucket

History
Dundee, United Kingdom (1994 – present)
Snow Patrol is an alternative rock band which formed in Dundee, Scotland in 1994 and currently based in Bangor, Northern Ireland, where most of the band members are from. They consist of Gary Lightbody (vocals, guitar), Nathan Connolly (guitar, vocals), Paul Wilson (bass), Tom Simpson (keyboards) and Johnny Quinn (drums). Lightbody and Quinn are the only original members who remain in the band. The band became wildly successful on both sides of the Atlantic on the back of their fourth record, 2006’s “Eyes Open” and the ballad “Chasing Cars” - a song that has spent a near-record breaking 90 weeks on the UK Top 75. Some of their other well known songs are “Run”, “Spitting Games”, “You’re All I Have”, “Hands Open” and “Take Back the City”.
The main thing to get about Snow Patrol is that, 14 years after they started out as a student band at Dundee University, they’re still flying, gloriously and unpredictably, by the seat of their pants. “The great and terrifying thing about our band,” declares their leader and main songwriter Gary Lightbody, “Is that everything has always happened as it’s going along. There’s been very little masterplan. We allow things to happen as much by accident as by deliberate intention.” One notable early accident was their name. Lightbody’s band used to be known as Polar Bear - hence their 1998 debut album Songs For Polarbears - but were obliged to change it after discovering that this was what the bassist of Jane’s Addiction was calling his side project. ‘Snow Patrol’ had already been chosen for them by a friend who didn’t care for the Polar Bear moniker; and so it came to pass that Snow Patrol signed in 1995 to the Jeepster label, home of their Glaswegian indie heroes at the time, Belle and Sebastian.

Smashing Pumpkins

Photobucket

History
Chicago, United States (1988 – 2000, 2007 – present)
The Smashing Pumpkins are an influential American alternative rock band, formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1988. Billy Corgan and James Iha met in a record store, and began performing in local nightclubs with their bassist, D’Arcy Wretzky, using a drum machine. Playing with a drum machine frustrated both the band and their audience, and so Chicago jazz drummer Jimmy Chamberlin was hired soon afterwards.
Less influenced by punk than many of their contemporaries, the Pumpkins had a densely layered, guitar-heavy sound, with powerful loud-to-soft-to-loud transitions, while still picking up grunge, heavy metal, power pop, psychedelic rock, shoegaze-style production.
In later recordings, namely Adore, the fourth album, an electronica flair filtered in after Jimmy Chamberlin temporarily left the band for drug rehab. Though Chamberlin returned for their fifth album, Machina/The Machines of God, electronica undertones remained. The emotional tone of bandleader Billy Corgan’s songs ranged from angry (X.Y.U.) to dour (Disarm) to jubilant (Cherub Rock).
Selling more than 18.3 million albums in the United States alone (as of 2006), The Smashing Pumpkins were one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands of the 1990s. However, internal fighting, diminishing sales, drug problems, cultural vitality, and what is speculated to be improper treatment from their record company, hampered the band in their later years, leading to the 2000 break-up.

Puddle of Mudd

Photobucket

History
amberdeen, washingston (1987 – present)
Puddle of Mudd is an American post-grunge band. The original incarnation of this band was formed in 1992 in Kansas City, Missouri. Critics label the band as grunge-derivative. In their hometown, they released their debut album “Stuck” in 1993, following “Abrasive” in 1996. These two albums gained very little publicity, and only their polished, commercialized efforts were known, leading new fans to believe that they were just carbon copies of original grunge bands, specifically Nirvana and Alice in Chains.
After this incarnation split up, a new version was formed in Los Angeles by vocalist Wes Scantlin.
Wes Scantlin was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. Raised in Kansas City, he attended Park Hill High School. He left after high school, and formed Puddle of Mudd in Los Angeles. They are now famous for songs such as “PlayControl”, “She Hates Me”, and “PlayBlurry”.
The band was named after the band’s old practice spot on the Missouri River flooded leaving a puddle of mud in their practice area.
Puddle of Mudd is signed to Fred Durst’s record label, Flawless Records.
In 2005 two members, Paul Phillips and Greg Upchurch, left the band. Greg currently drums for 3 Doors Down while Paul, now playing in Society Red, left citing creative and personal differences.
Their song “Control” was the official theme song of WWE’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event in November 2001, and their song “PlayNothing Left To Lose” was the official theme song of WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in January 2004.
