The Unseen

History

Hingham, Massachusetts, United States (1993 – present)
Originally “The Extinct”, The Unseen is a punk band (formerly considered a street punk band from ‘93-‘00 that was formed in 1993 in Hingham, Massachusetts, United States. After their original lead singer, Marc Carlson, left the band they played as a four piece.
The Unseen formed in Boston 1993 and released the demo EP Too Young To Know…Too Reckless To Care in 1994. Two other 7” EPs followed, before the release of their debut full-length, Lower Class Crucifixion on A-F Records. Another two albums followed on the same label before they signed to BYO Records, and then, Hellcat Records. Each of their albums have sold moderately better than previous releases.
The quintet also released a best-of compilation for the European market in June 2000 titled Totally Unseen: The Best Of The Unseen, which contained two previously unreleased tracks.
For the release of their 2001 album The Anger And the Truth, “Chainsaw” re-accompanied the band in the studio to record the song No Evacuation, a song he originally wrote.
After being a member of the band for nearly ten years and writing most of the material on Lower Class Crucifixion, So This is Freedom?, and The Anger and the Truth, Paul Russo left the band after only contributing vocals to one track on their fourth album Explode. Citing differences in direction, he is now the leader of The Strings, an indie rock/folk band. He remains friends with his former bandmates.
Mark Unseen, the lead singer, formed and currently runs ADD Records. He also briefly joined the Maine street punk group A Global Threat as a second singer, and recorded the full-length What the Fuck Will Change? and Until We Die before deciding to concentrate on his duties with The Unseen.

The Hollow Sound

Photobucket

Armed with only the instruments on our backs and the words in our hearts, The Hollow Sound has always been about looking forward since the earliest months of 2005. This band is the driving force in our lives; it is what keeps us going—whether that be through writing, performing, or recording.

Over the years we’ve put together a handful of EPs, the most recent of which being The Life & Times of The Hollow Sound, produced by Rob Freeman (ex-Hidden In Plain View, producer of Hit The Lights, Armor For Sleep) and Mike Poorman (ex-Hot Rod Circuit, producer of Paulson,
Therefore I Am, Piebald) at The Pilot Studio in Boonton, NJ and Strangeways Recording in Providence, RI. It was then mastered by Gavin Lurssen (Copeland, Cartel, Elvis Costello) in Hollywood, CA.

We have been lucky enough to share the stage with Rookie Of The Year, The Matches, Kaddisfly, As Tall As Lions, Protest The Hero, The Audition, Charlotte Sometimes, Danger Radio, Dear & The Headlights, Steel Train, Forgive Durden, The Reign Of Kindo, Forever The Sickest Kids and many more amazing bands. In 2006 and 2007 we were invited to play the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City, and in 2009 we played SXSW in Austin, Texas. Currently we are at home
supporting our debut EP and playing as many local and out-of-state shows as possible.

Terror

Biography

1) Terror, a hardcore band from Los Angeles, California. The band formed in early 2002.
Though the group consider themselves a “hardcore” band, guitarist Doug Weber says Terror, “sounds like all of the old metal bands I used to listen to. It’s just not crazy Swedish metal or something, it sounds like old thrash.”

Terror has been very successful in their time as a band. Their album One with the Underdogs sold over 40,000 copies. They have also been on tours throughout Europe, Australia, Brazil and Japan. Their newest album, Always the Hard Way reached #10 on Billboard’s Heatseekers and #19 on Top Independent Records.

Before Terror, vocalist Scott Vogel was known for singing for mid-90s Buffalo bands Slugfest, Despair and Buried Alive. Vogel is widely known in the scene not just for his tireless efforts to keep hardcore pure and fun, but also for his tendency for bizarre or hilarious on-stage banter, known colloquially as “Vogel-isms”. Examples include “We need to elevate the maximum stagedive potential”, and “Maximum Ouput…activate the pit!”.

2) Terror was a project band formed in 1994.
Fulfilling some kind of Gothenburg headbanger fantasy, this was basically Erlandsson, the Björler twins from At the Gates, and dearly-departed Dissection frontman Jon Nödtveidt doing a tight-as-hell take on catchy Terrorizer-style death metal/grind. Nödtveidt’s vocals are especially cool, with occasional effects and a lower-range delivery of his trademark ghastly approach. With a total running time of exactly five minutes, the songs are called ‘Radiation’, ‘Destruction’, and ‘Terror’–what more do you need to know?
