Severed savior

History

Severed Savior are a technical brutal death metal band from San Francisco, California. They formed in 1999 by Troy Fullerton (Drums, also in Carnivorous (US)). They play extremely technical brutal death metal with ripping guitars, harsh vocals and blasting technical drumming.

The band released their ”Forced to Bleed” EP in 2001, which was widely acclaimed by underground magazines. This showed their grandiose technical skill on their instruments and progression for a label contract.

They got that contract with underground specialists Unique Leader Records and released their debut full-length album ”Brutality is Law” which increased the progressive brutality and technicality of the band. They later released a one-song demo in 2006.

Their second full-length entitled ”Servile Insurrection” was released through

Septycal Gorge

History

Septycal Gorge is a brutal death metal from Italy. They formed in summer 2004 by Diego (Guitars) and Mariano (Vocals), after a week Dave (Drums) joined. However, there were alot of changes in the coming months and year, with Alex, Giampaolo, Damien all showing their time in the bass position and Marco (Guitars). Then the line up finally found stability with Dario (Guitars), Maurizio (Bass), Diego (Guitars) and Mariano (Vocals).

The band then imediatley began to record their ”Delivering Hidden Mutilation” demo in 2005. This was finally released by Mutilated Records, which featured the fast style of other Italian bands and a slam influence aswell from the slam death metal scene, most notable being Devourment and Deeds of Flesh.

They then released their well anticipated 2006 debut album ”Growing Seeds of Decay” on Mutilated Records. This featured the early demo songs aswell as four more new songs with the new line up all taking part. This was recieved greatly in the scene and got them toruing with such bands as Mortuary Drape, Vomit The Soul (Ita), Faust (Ita) and Wargore.

After, the band left the Czech-label Mutilated Records and went on to do a Promo in 2007, which amounted to a split release called ”Da Vinci Death Code” with Fleshgod Apocalypse, Modus Delicti and Onirik(Ita) on Ripper Tattoo Productions.

The band are going to release their follow up to their debut with ”Erase The Insignificant” which is hopefully being released sometime in september 2009. To promote the album they are doing a couple of fests this summer in Italy and then they might be doing a European Tour after the release in the Autumn.

Deed of flesh

History

Deeds of Flesh is a brutal death metal band formed in 1993 by Jacoby Kingston, Erik Lindmark and Joey Heaslet. Erik has been the only member never to leave the band in the band’s career. The two remaining original members have also created a record label, Unique Leader Records, which is thought highly of by fans of brutal death metal. Since their debut, their popularity has been rising and setting a new standard for modern brutality and technicality in death metal. Deeds of Flesh has found their definite sound niche in their 2001 release “Mark of The Legion”. Jacoby retired in 2007 and Erlend Caspersen replaced him on bass.

suffocation

History

Photobucket
New York, United States (1990 – present)
Suffocation, one of the earliest American death metal bands, arranged heavy, uniquely rhythmic, riffs into complex, Jazz-influenced song structures to create a sub-genre of the form often termed “brutal” death metal - also known by many as “New York Death Metal,” or “nydm” for short. Others in this form include Immolation, Incantation, Skinless, and Morpheus Descends.

The band formed in 1990 and has since released many highly-regarded recordings on several labels, including the former powerhouse of the genre, Roadrunner. Their debut, Effigy of the Forgotten, is considered a classic by most, topping the charts of many fans’ “all-time favorites” lists. Also worth noting is their debut EP, Human Waste, which was the first official release on relapse records in 1991.

Cannibal corpse

Photobucket

History
Buffalo, United States (1988 – present)
Formed in Buffalo, New York in 1988, Cannibal Corpse helped found, manipulate and transcend the very boundaries of death metal beginning with the scandalously controversial debut, Eaten Back To Life. Raising the eyebrows of inquisitive metalheads and incensed parents and politicians, the record - produced by Scott Burns at the now renowned Morrisound Studios - was more extreme and confrontational than anything the metal genre had ever known. As a result of the band’s gruesome cover art, grisly lyrics and song titles like “Hammer Smashed Face,” “Meat Hook Sodomy” and “Addicted To Vaginal Skin,” follow-up records Butchered At Birth (1991) and Tomb Of The Mutilated (1992) were met with further contempt by the likes of such organized censorship leagues as the PMRC. In just three years, the sale of Cannibal Corpse merchandise was (temporarily) prohibited in Australia, Korea and New Zealand (in fact, the sale of Butchered At Birth and the performance of those three records is still forbidden in Germany).

Proving technical dexterity, diabolic vocal grunts and a penchant for serial killers, zombies and gore of all shapes, sizes and textures, Cannibal Corpse won over the hearts of many a metal extremist and have since become a harrowing household name. Since the bands inception they have sold millions of albums world wide and show no sign of slowing or bowing down to the ever changing metal genre. Massive tours throughout the U.S.

six feet under

Photobucket

History
Six Feet Under is a death metal band with heavy rock influences on some of their albums.

Originally a side project for Cannibal Corpse vocalist Chris Barnes and former Obituary guitarist Allen West, Six Feet Under eventually became a full-time proposition when friction between Barnes and his other bandmates became too much to bear. Featuring ex-Death bassist Terry Butler and drummer Greg Gall in the rhythm section, Six Feet Under issued their debut album, Haunted, in 1995. Barnes subsequently quit Cannibal Corpse, and Six Feet Under issued the stopgap EP Alive and Dead in 1996 to tide fans over until the following year’s full-length, Warpath. The bands line up has remained stable since 1997 when Allen West quit to be replaced by Steve Swanson formerly of Massacre. Their third album Maximum Violence appeared in 1999. Graveyard Classics followed a year later and 2001’s True Carnage featured guest vocals from Ice-T. Double Dead arrived in 2002, followed by Bringer of Blood in 2003, Graveyard Classics, Vol. 2 in 2004, 13 and the Decade in the Grave box in 2005, and Commandment in 2007.

SFU’s newest album “DEATH RITUALS” was released on Metal Blade Records on November 11th, 2008.

Six Feet Under has a strong following in Europe especially in Germany. In fact, the band also released a special German language version of the song “Bringer Of Blood”.
