History



Despised Icon is a deathcore band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The band was formed by members of Neuraxis, In Dying Days and Heaven’s Cry, in January 2002.
The band is noted for the use of two full-time vocalists, Alexandre Erian, (Also one of the members of the rap group Crimson Syndicate) who sings using a mid-range yelling/shouting technique, and Steve Marois for the extremely low growls, high pitched screams, and “pig squeals”. Despised Icon is known for its work in the underground music industry, having been met with both critical acclaim and appraisal for its efforts in deathcore music. They can also be cited as one of the first deathcore bands, starting out in 2002.

History



Job for a Cowboy is an American death metal band, formed in Glendale, Arizona in 2003. They released their first EP, Doom in 2005, and later that year signed with the Metal Blade label. Their official debut album, Genesis, was released in 2007, peaking at #54 on the Billboard 200 and selling 13,000 copies in its first week.
Job for a Cowboy started as a deathcore group, and evolved into a predominantly death metal sound with their full-length debut Genesis.
The band has played in several festivals, including Download, Sounds of the Underground and Wacken Open Air. The current band members are vocalist Jonny Davy, guitarists Bobby Thompson, bassist Brent Riggs, and drummer Jon ‘Davis’ Rice.
The band’s fan base has allowed them to share the stage with everyone from As I Lay Dying and The Dillinger Escape Plan to Origin and The Acacia Strain to Haste the Day and The Red Chord.
To add to their progressive accomplishments they have now signed a deal with the well-known and well-respected label, Metal Blade Records; known for signing artists such as GWAR, As I Lay Dying, Cannibal Corpse, Unearth, The Red Chord, Black Dahlia Murder and Bolt Thrower.
Job For A Cowboy will be touring with other heavy metal acts such as Children of Bodom, Megadeth, In Flames, and High on Fire in a metal festival known as Gigantour. Megadeth will be headlining the event.
They have stated on their myspace that a new album will come out in 2009.

All Shall Perish

History


All Shall Perish is a deathcore quintet from Oakland, California formed in 2002, and are consistently cited by critics as one of the best bands in the genre. All Shall Perish combines various genres, including death metal, deathgrind and metalcore. Since 2005, All Shall Perish have delivered two records off of Nuclear Blast. The debut album, Hate, Malice, Revenge, was originally released by Japanese record label Amputated Vein Records in 2003. In 2005, it was re-released by Nuclear Blast and since then has received mostly underground acclaim. In 2006, The Price of Existence was released to largely positive critical reaction. The first single, “Eradication”, was made into a video and is played on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball.

Napalm Death

History
Napalm Death are a death metal/grindcore band from Birmingham, England. The band was formed in the village of Meriden near Birmingham, England in 1981 by Nicholas Bullen and Miles Ratledge.

Although other groups had previously played fast and aggressive music, Napalm Death are credited with defining the Grindcore genre through their fusion of punk and metal musical structures, aggressive playing, fast tempos, and deep guttural vocals.
